Abstract

There is little direct authority for the statement that the Statute of Limitations bars only the remedy but does not affect the title to chattels. Mr. Côté concludes that, as "ownership" of a chattel is the sum of rights possessed with respect to it, when the rights in tort are extinguished, so also is ownership. This is in line with the objects of the statute.
